Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application. All memberships shall be granted upon a majority vote of the Steering Committee. Successful applicants can select between three basic membership levels:

Organizations, Businesses, Non-Profits, and other Coalitions Membership
Annual dues: The amount required for annual dues for businesses, organizations, non-profits, and other coalitions shall be $100 per year.

Individual Membership
Annual Dues: $20 per individual, unless changed by a majority vote of the members at an annual meeting of the full membership.

o Active Membership –

• Eligibility to participate on Steering Committee. Steering Committee Members have full voting rights. (Must be a Tacoma resident to be eligible)
• Participation in bi-monthly VSTC meetings.
• Active support of VSTC priorities and activities.
• Organizational recognition (if applicable) by VSTC.

 

o Basic Membership -

• Annual meeting participation.
• Participation in bi-monthly VSTC meetings.
• Non-voting membership level.
• Organizational recognition (if applicable) by VSTC.
• Annual meeting participation.

 

o Endorser -

• Organizational recognition (if applicable) by VSTC. Non-voting membership level.
• Annual meeting participation.

 

Rights of members: Each Active Member shall be eligible to appoint one voting representative to cast the member’s vote in association elections. Continued membership is contingent upon being up-to-date on membership dues.

 

A Resignation and Termination: Any member may resign by filing a written resignation with the secretary. Resignations shall not relieve a member of unpaid dues, or other charges previously accrued. A member can have their membership terminated by a majority vote of the membership.

 

Non-Voting Membership: The board shall have the authority to establish and define non-voting categories of membership. (Examples include Basic Membership and Endorser Membership).
